There is a multitude of races of pigeons, but we will quote the principal ones here used in the breeding in France. One finds three types of passion or stockbreeders: Those which select very original races, disparate or ordinary by seeking pure profiles: they are the stockbreeders of pigeons of exposure, which contribute at the time of championships and gain Il trophies has there, and in particular in south-west, of the rare stockbreeders, of wood pigeons, cousins of our pigeons: They are impassioned by their difficult breeding of bird calls, which they fix in height, each autumn in the Pyrenean valleys, to attract the migratory flights towards their net. It is of in love with nature and the good food. There is finally, that which raises the carrier pigeons, many in France and especially in Belgium. If you meet one of these stockbreeders there, you will see quickly, ô how much their pigeons live them and impassions them!
But let us interest being maintained in the professional races called of report/ratio.
The majority of the races, in the past high allowed the creation of the stocks now used for the production of ' young pigeons of flesh '. They came, at the beginning of the United States, and improved in France. One generally distinguishes:
- the white hubbel:
- the coloured hubbel
- the silver plated king
- Euro- pigeon, hybridés starting from these three races above.
The average productivity of these stocks is included/understood between 15 and 17 young pigeons per annum and by couple with an average weight of 600 grs sharp, at 28 days. It should be noted that these performances are related to a good control of breeding.
